(Thesis: The function of transcription factor Sp3 in the transcriptional regulation of the human a2(I) collagen gene). M.D from the University of Tokyo. He is a member of the Japanese Society of Dermatology, Investigative Dermatology, Clinical Immunology, Allergy, Connective tissue Research, Rheumatology, Cosmetic Dermatology, Psoriasis, Skin Cancer and American Academy of Immunologists, American Society for Matrix Biology. He awarded the Rheumatism Foundation Award, Investigative Dermatology Award, Connective Tissue Research Award.

Emmanuel Andres

Professor and Head

Biography: Dr. Andrès received his MD degree in Internal Medicine, at the University of Strasbourg in France in 1996. He worked as an associate professor at the University Hospital of Strasbourg, France. In 1998 he worked as Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in the Laboratory of Professor Hoffmann (2011, Nobel Prize of Medicine) in the field of cationic antimicrobial peptides and pathogens - host relations. In 2002, he was nominated Professor at the University of Strasbourg, France. He also was in the head of an Internal Medicine Department (of 62 beads) in the University hospital of Strasbourg, France. He was awarded the French Society of Haematology, the price for research in the field of anemia related to cobalamin or folate deficiencies in 2004. He also conducts several studies on inflammatory or immune disorders. His recent works also include research and development on human sounds analysis, electronic stethoscope, e-auscultation, and e-medicine.

Nikolaos Papanas

Democritus University of Thrace

Biography: Nikolaos Papanas is a Professor in Internal Medicine-Diabetes Mellitus at the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. He is Head of the Diabetes Centre-Diabetic Foot Clinic of the Second Department of Internal Medicine at the Democritus University of Thrace. He has been specialized in diabetes and its complications in the Diabetes Centre and the Diabetic Foot Clinic at King’s College Hospital, London, UK, as well as in the German Diabetes Centre at the Heinrich Heine University, Düsseldorf, Germany. He has published more than 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Lower Extremity Wounds. Moreover, he serves on the editorial board of other international journals (more than 80). He has been Guest Editor in 9 special issues of international journals. He has also participated with numerous presentations in Greek and European medical congresses and repeatedly served as an invited reviewer in medical journals. He has been invited to deliver lectures in 9 foreign countries. He has served in the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Society for Angiology. He is also Vice President of the Greek Society for the Study of the Diabetic Foot. He has served as Secretary-General and as President of the Hellenic Diabetes Association (HDA). He is now the President of the ethics committee of HDA. Finally, he is an honorary member of the Cypriot Diabetes Association and of the Hungarian Diabetes Association.

Ahmed Hegazi

Biography: Ahmed Hegazi is currently a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology in the National Research Center, Egypt. Prof. Hegazi received his master’s degree in 1979 and his Ph.D. in 1981. Hegazi's research work has been focused lately on bee products and their therapeutic effects. Hegazi organized and contributed to national and international research projects since 1977 and up till now; he has been the principal investigator on multiple research projects within the National Research Center. He has published 226 scientific papers and articles in national and international journals and 7 books in English and 9 books in the Arabic language.  He also served on the board of multiple national and international scientific journals.

Enis Karabulut

Biography: Enis Karabulut is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of veterinary science at Bingöl University, Turkey. Qualified with a Ph.D. from the University of Firat University Faculty of Health Sciences in the veterinary program, department of surgery in 1994.13 Articles published in internationally acclaimed journals and 31 articles published in nationally recognized journals.

Omer Faruk Dogan

Biography: Dr. Omer Faruk Dogan is currently working as a professor of cardiovascular surgery at the health sciences university. He received the Instructor of Cardiovascular Surgery and after Pediatric Heart and Vascular Surgery degree in the same university. He is a Professor and the co-chief of the Adana Research and Education Hospital in Adana, Turkey now. Since 2006 he worked as the Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery Department in Business Hospital and Medical Park Hospital in Turkey. During 2003-2006, he was a Research Fellow at the Hacettepe University Medical School for pediatric cardiovascular surgery.

Rafael Torres Valadez

Biography: Dr. Rafael Torres currently works as a professor in the academic unit of integral health at the Autonomous University of Nayarit, Mexico. He is a researcher in the unit specialized in research, development, and innovation in Genomic Medicine at the Nayarita Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CENIT2). He is a member of the National System of Researchers and qualified scientific reviewer of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT), Mexico. He obtained his degree in medicine (M.D.) in 2011 from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico; and his Ph.D. degree in molecular biology in medicine from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico in 2017. He is the author and co-author of multiple original articles published in indexed international journals. Speaker at national and international conferences and co-author of the book chapter. Maria Piagkou

Biography: Maria Piagkou (DDS, MD, MSc in forensic medicine and toxicology, Ph.D. in anatomy) is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and is currently working as an assistant professor at the Department of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy, School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). She has nineteen years of teaching activity in the field of anatomy, focused on head and neck, neuroanatomy, oral and maxillofacial area. She authored 8 chapters in neuroanatomy and oral and maxillofacial surgery and thoracic surgery books, 2 monographs and edited the translation in 7 books. She is a reviewer in 24 international scientific journals. Dr. Piagkou authored 90 publications in PubMed, 97 abstracts in 30 international congresses and 350 abstracts in Greek scientific meetings. She is a member of the Sports Medicine Association of Greece.

Sherry Yun Wang

Biography: Dr. Sherry Yun Wang currently works as a Postdoc Research Associate at Washington University in St Louis (WUSTL) School of Medicine, and adjunct research fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences at Monash University. She completed her PhD in Pharmacy at School of Pharmacy, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. Her research interest focuses on the uptake of health services among patients with chronic diseases and substance abuse problems. Giuseppe Lanza

Biography: Giuseppe Lanza currently works as a Senior Academic Researcher at the University of Catania (Italy). After graduation with honors in Medicine, he trained at the School of Neurology and got an international Ph.D. at the same University. In 2013 I was selected for a Scientific Fellowship promoted by the European Federation of Neurological Societies (EFNS). From 2013 to October 2018, I worked as a Consultant Neurologist at the “Oasi Research Institute–IRCCS” in Troina (Italy), which is a Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization (WHO). More recently, I have obtained the Master of Science (Level I) in Clinical Research and the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor.

Ana Isabel Rocha Faustino

Biography: Ana Isabel Rocha Faustino is a Researcher in the Center for the Research and Technology of Agro-Environmental and Biological Sciences (CITAB) from 2013. European Ph.D. in Veterinary Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal. She is a Member of the Department of Veterinary Sciences. Externship in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ghent University between 1st February and 31st May 2016. During this period accompanied the small animal practice with special emphasis in the Imaging service (ultrasound, x-ray, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, and scintigraphy). The results of her works were published in more than 250 publications in several formats.
